Privacy Notice

This notice describes how Wagner & Me, LLC ("wagner&me", "we") collects, uses, shares and protects information about you when you visit www.wagnerandme.com, place an order, or correspond with us. We've tried to write it the way we'd want to read it — plainly, without jargon. The legal essentials are still here; they're just not hiding.
1. The short version
- We collect what we need to send you a parcel and answer your questions — name, address, email, order history.
- We never sell your personal data. Full stop.
- We use a small number of trusted services (Shopify, Stripe, Klaviyo, Cloudflare, Plausible) to actually run the shop.
- You can ask us, at any time, to show you what we have, correct it, delete it, or stop emailing you.
- Cookies: we use the bare minimum, and you control the rest.
2. Information we collect
2.1 Information you give us
- Identity & contact — name, billing and shipping address, email, phone (optional).
- Order details — what you bought, sizes, monogramming notes, gift messages.
- Payment data — handled by Stripe and Shop Pay; we receive a token and the last four digits of your card.
- Account data — login credentials, preferences, saved addresses.
- Correspondence — anything you write to care@wagnerandme.com or send through our forms.
- Pet profile (optional) — your dog's name, breed, weight, neck and chest measurements, used only to fit collars and harnesses correctly.
2.2 Information we collect automatically
- Device & usage — IP address, browser type, referring URL, pages viewed, approximate location at city level.
- Cookies and similar — see section 8.
2.3 Information from others
- Payment, fraud-prevention and address-validation results from our payment processors and shipping partners.
- Aggregated, non-identifying audience data from advertising platforms (only if you've allowed marketing cookies).
3. How we use it
- To process and fulfil your orders, including returns and repairs.
- To create and maintain your account and answer your questions.
- To prevent fraud, abuse and unauthorised access.
- To send transactional emails (order confirmations, shipping updates).
- With your consent, to send marketing emails about new collections and atelier notes — you can unsubscribe in one click, any time.
- To improve the site, our products, and the fit of our collars and harnesses.
- To comply with legal obligations (tax, accounting, consumer protection).
We do not use your personal information to train generative AI models, and we do not sell your information to data brokers.
4. Legal bases (GDPR / UK GDPR)
If you're in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, we process your data on these bases:
- Contract — to fulfil your order and operate your account.
- Legitimate interests — to run, secure and improve the Service, prevent fraud, and (only where this is balanced against your rights) understand site usage in aggregate.
- Consent — for marketing emails and non-essential cookies. You can withdraw consent at any time.
- Legal obligation — to keep accounting, tax and consumer-rights records.
5. Who we share with
We share information only with the parties below, only to the extent they need it to do their job for us, and only under written contract:
- Shopify Inc. — e-commerce platform and hosting.
- Stripe, Inc. and Shop Pay — payment processing.
- Klaviyo, Inc. — transactional and marketing emails.
- Cloudflare, Inc. — content delivery and security.
- Plausible Insights OÜ — privacy-friendly, cookieless web analytics.
- UPS, USPS, DHL, Royal Mail, FedEx — order delivery.
- Professional advisors — accountants, auditors, lawyers, when needed.
- Authorities — where we're legally required to disclose information (we'll resist overbroad requests).
If wagner&me is sold or merges with another company, your information may transfer as part of that transaction; we'll notify you in advance and you'll have the right to object or close your account.
6. International transfers
Our servers and several of the services above are located in the United States. When we move your data outside the EEA or UK, we rely on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses (or the UK equivalent, the IDTA) and additional safeguards, including encryption in transit and at rest.
7. How long we keep it
- Order records — 7 years (tax and consumer-protection law).
- Account data — for as long as your account is active, then deleted within 24 months of inactivity.
- Marketing list — until you unsubscribe or after 24 months of no engagement.
- Customer-care correspondence — 36 months after the last interaction.
- Cookie data — see the duration column in our cookie banner.
8. Cookies & similar tech
We use a small set of cookies and similar technologies:
- Strictly necessary — to make the site work (cart, checkout, login). No consent required.
- Functional — to remember your preferences (currency, language). Stored locally; opt-out anytime.
- Analytics — Plausible, which is cookieless and aggregates only.
- Marketing — used only when you explicitly accept them in the cookie banner. We'll never assume yes.
You can change your cookie choices at any time via the "Cookie Settings" link in the footer.
9. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you have some or all of the following rights:
- Access — see what we hold about you.
- Correction — fix anything that's wrong.
- Deletion — ask us to erase your data ("right to be forgotten").
- Restriction & objection — pause or limit certain uses.
- Portability — receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
- Withdraw consent — for marketing or non-essential cookies, anytime.
- Lodge a complaint — with your data protection authority (e.g. the ICO in the UK, the CNIL in France).
- California residents — additional rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including the right to know, delete, correct, and opt out of "sharing" for cross-context behavioural advertising. We don't "sell" personal information as defined in the CCPA.
To exercise any right, write to privacy@wagnerandme.com. We'll respond within 30 days; the service is free unless requests are excessive or unfounded.
10. Children
The Service isn't directed at children under 16, and we don't knowingly collect their personal data. If you believe a child has given us information, please contact us and we'll delete it.
11. Security
We take security seriously: TLS 1.3 in transit, AES-256 at rest, principle-of-least-privilege access, MFA on every internal system, and regular third-party penetration tests. No system is impervious — but if we ever discover a breach affecting your data we'll notify you and the relevant authority within the time limits required by law (within 72 hours under the GDPR).
12. Changes to this notice
We'll update this notice when our practices change. The "Last updated" date at the top will tell you when. For material changes we'll email registered customers and post a banner on the site for at least 30 days.
